This page is a resource for anyone involved in the OJP process at your school. It provides important details to ensure that teachers/aides, volunteers, and any other attendee of OJP shows have the information they need prior to, during, and after the show.
If, after reviewing the information on this page, you still have questions, concerns, or comments, please click on “Contact Us” in the main menu and fill out the form with your information. The appropriate board member will be in touch as soon as possible.

~Advance payment
~Pay by cash or check at the theater - $7.00 per show per student ($14.00 for full two-play season). Free to classroom teachers and school aides.
CANCELLATION POLICY &
SEATING CHANGES
- Seat changes will be considered throughout the season, however they cannot be guaranteed. Seat changes may be necessary for students with special needs, sensory issues, or height issues. Contact the seating manager to request changes.
- If a school is in session and cancels their request for seats, OJP will bill the school as follows:
- Within one month before show dates: 10% of the cost of total seats requested for that show.
- Within two weeks before show dates: 50% of the cost of total seats requested for that show.
- During the week of show dates: 100% of the cost of total seats requested for that show.
- Until the end of the Olympia Junior programs season, seating requests will continue to be considered and filled, if possible, by the seating manager.
HOMESCHOOL & ONLINE LEARNERS PARTICIPATION
- Online learners, homeschooling students and their parents are welcome to attend OJP shows that are appropriate to the students’ grade level. Only students who are at least 5 years of age by September 1st of the current school year are able to attend OJP shows.
- The cost is the same for parents and students ($7.00 per show per student).
- Reservations and payment arrangements are made by contacting Cathy Heryford, Homeschool Coordinator, at 360-789-6819, via e-mail at myherd@comcast.net or by clicking on the “Homeschool/Online Learners Resource” tab in the main menu.
Transportation
- Schools are responsible for organizing and funding transportation to and from the shows.
- Transportation can be funded from district or building budgets, by PTA or other parent support groups, or by assessing students with an additional charge.
- School buses, vans, cars, and carpooling are all suggested methods of transportation.
- The OJP Bus Coordinator provides instructions to bus drivers as they arrive at the theater and manages the schedule for departure from the theater.
- Parking for buses is provided by the Port of Olympia.
Educational Materials, evaluations, and theater etiquette guide
- A Study Guide for each show is provided by each production company for school staff and homeschooling parents to use with their students to prepare for the show. Materials may include suggestions for class discussions and background information about the play and the production company. This information can be found under “Teacher Resources” in the OJP Main Menu.
- A Theater Etiquette Guide can be found as well under “Teacher Resources” in the OJP Main Menu. We encourage school staff and homeschooling parents to go over this guide with their students prior to attending any OJP show.
- We ask that teachers, school staff, and homeschooling parents fill out an evaluation form for each show their students attend. This valuable input is used to ensure that OJP is providing the best resources before, during, and after the shows, that the shows are age-appropriate, and that they provide not only entertainment, but also education. This form can be found under “Show Evaluations” in the OJP Main Menu.
PHOTOGRAPH POLICY AT THE THEATER
- Taking photos or videos of any kind, including those taken with a cell phone, is NOT allowed in the theater, without prior permission from the theater company.
- Taking photographs of the stage set is a form of copyright infringement.
